EXETER, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island State Police say a vehicle crashed into a tree in Exeter, killing the driver.

Troopers say a 41-year-old West Greenwich woman was pronounced dead Monday morning after her car left the roadway and crashed on state Route 165.

Capt. Derek Borek says it’s unclear when the crash happened. The vehicle was spotted Monday by a passing driver.

Police say drugs and alcohol don’t appear to have been factors in the crash.

The victim has not been identified.

The crash is under investigation.
