BELLPORT, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say no injuries are reported after a small plane made an emergency landing on a golf course.

Long Island MacArthur Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken tells Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/2s2DkTA ) that one person was aboard the plane when it landed at the Bellport Country Club around 6:15 a.m. Monday.

The golf course doesn’t open until 8 a.m.

The pilot had reported engine problems. One of the plane’s wings struck a tree during the emergency landing.

Aaron Leibowitz, who does golf course maintenance, says the pilot made a sharp right to avoid a storage building and came to a halt off the 12th green.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
