ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A Florida deputy’s undercover vehicle was stolen and then recovered, but authorities say several firearms were missing.

An Orange County Sheriff’s Office news release says the undercover vehicle used by a narcotics squad agent was stolen Saturday in Orlando’s tourist district and recovered later that night.

Items stolen from the vehicle included two pistols, a submachine gun, ammunition, body armor, a sheriff’s star and two narcotics-squad shirts.

The sheriff’s office says the unidentified deputy is being investigated for possible violations of agency policy. Those possible violations include not securing weapons in an agency vehicle and keeping unsecured weapons in a vehicle when the agent is off-duty.
