STANLEY, N.D. (AP) - The Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office says a man who went missing while operating a personal watercraft on the Missouri River near New Town is presumed drowned.
Authorities tell KMOT-TV https://bit.ly/2s0y9ox that they were notified of an unattended personal watercraft Sunday morning near the Four Bears Bridge. A person who had been with the man said he lost sight of him in rough waters.
The missing man did not have a life jacket. Authorities say the search is now a recovery effort.
The man’s name wasn’t immediately released.
