JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - An autopsy shows that a Mississippi man whose severed head and burned body were found separately died from the decapitation.
The remains of 30-year-old Jeremy Jerome Jackson were found Saturday. WLBT-TV (https://bit.ly/2t2zfyN) reports that Jackson also was shot in the leg, but that wound wasn’t fatal.
Jackson police on Tuesday offered a $20,000 reward for information on Jackson’s murder.
Older brother Johnny Jackson, one of nine siblings, says he last saw Jeremy, who lived with him, on Friday. The brother says Jeremy Jackson was a student at Jackson State University and had three children. Johnny Jackson says he believes his brother’s head was severed as “a message sent to somebody.”
