KEIZER, Ore. (AP) - A 26-year-old Oregon man was sentenced to life in prison for shooting and killing a man in a robbery-gone-wrong outside a mall Starbucks.

The Statesman Journal reports (https://stjr.nl/2rqHJCN ) Timothy Calloway was sentenced Tuesday after being convicted last week of murder with a firearm, first-degree robbery and unlawful use of a weapon.

Calloway apologized in court to the family of 28-year-old Jerrid Goodpaster, who he killed in February 2016.

Jerrid Goodpaster’s wife of almost 10 years, Angela Goodpaster, whispered “thank you” from the courtroom’s second row after Calloway’s apology.
