MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Madison police believe a fight involving several people that took place in front of bars on University Avenue early played a role in the shooting death of a man in a parking lot about 90 minutes later.

The State Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2stPUy8) that the fight took place around 2 a.m. Saturday in front of bars and nightclubs on University Avenue between Lake Street and Frances Street. At least one person involved in the fight was injured and required medical attention.

The shooting killed 25-year-old Jameel Easter, of Madison. Police are seeking a 20-year-old man in connection with the homicide. He has not been identified.
