AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia man has been sentenced to life in prison for holding up a Family Dollar store.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/2rkkaar ) 21-year-old Timothy J. Joshua was convicted Wednesday in the 2014 armed robbery of the Augusta store. He received the life sentence because of two previous felony convictions in 2013 for criminal damage to property and robbery by sudden snatching. Judge Michael N. Annis also added an additional five-year probation term.

Joshua was arrested shortly after the robbery in connection with the home invasion of an 88-year-old woman, but was acquitted in January 2016.
