SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Officials say that more than 100 firefighters are battling a warehouse blaze near Candlestick Point in San Francisco.

Lt. Jonathan Baxter, a spokesman for the San Francisco Fire Department told The San Francisco Chronicle (https://bit.ly/2sBRduS) that firefighters were still trying to contain a fire that broke out at a warehouse Friday afternoon.

Baxter says that no injuries have been reported, but officials have advised people to avoid the area.

Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White says she believes that the building used to be a metal shop that housed toxic materials.

Baxter said electrical wires were sparking and firefighters are concerned about the integrity of the building’s walls.

He said firefighters on the scene initially encountered heavy smoke and flames.
