JASPER, Tenn. (AP) - A fiery early morning four-vehicle crash in eastern Tennessee has killed two motorists and shut down westbound lanes of Interstate 24.

The Times Free Press reports (https://bit.ly/2qI241L ) a commercial motor vehicle traveling east crossed the median into the oncoming traffic around 2 a.m. Friday and struck another commercial vehicle head-on.

Lt. John Harmon with the Tennessee Highway Patrol says one of the vehicles burst into flames. After the collision it continued going the wrong way and struck another vehicle as well as a passenger vehicle. 

Police do not know why the vehicle traveling east crossed the median into the westbound lane. 

The crash victims have not been identified.
