ESPANOLA, N.M. (AP) - The family of three New Mexico residents who were killed last week in a shooting spree has begun planning a funeral.

KOAT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2rN5vJk ) public visitation for the three family members: Max Trujillo Sr., Brenda Gallegos and Brendon Herrera will be Wednesday in Espanola.

Twenty-one-year-old Damian Herrera is accused of fatally shooting his stepfather, Trujillo Sr., and brother before turning the gun on his mother.

Authorities say Damian Herrera then traveled 200 miles (322 kilometers) around northern New Mexico and fatally shot two more people before he was arrested. He’s currently being held without bond pending a preliminary hearing.

His sister and others were at the family home when the shootings began.

Court documents state he had made troubling statements to family members in the past about his intentions to kill or hurt people for fun.
