LAS VEGAS (AP) - Officials say two Las Vegas men who were ordered to stay away from a notorious bike gang have been released from jail.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2rNKYEh ) a federal judge ordered the release of Jeremy Halgat and Robert Coleman on Monday. The two men will be on supervised released.
Halgat and Coleman were charged with racketeering last week.
Prosecutors say the pair violated pretrial release conditions from a separate case by maintaining contact with a motorcycle gang accused of multiple violent crimes including murder, assault and kidnapping. Prosecutors claim that they did not report the violations to the court over fears of compromising the ongoing racketeering investigation.
The judge determined that Coleman and Halgat could not be detained since the violations were never presented.
