NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey’s busiest prosecutor’s office is getting a new leader.

The attorney general on Tuesday appointed Robert Laurino as acting Essex County prosecutor. Laurino replaces Carolyn Murray, who was confirmed as a Superior Court judge on Monday.

Laurino previously served as acting prosecutor from January 2010 to February 2011.

He has worked for the office since 1980.
