NEW YORK (AP) - Over 160 firefighters battled a 4-alarm fire at a home in the Bronx that spread to three other buildings before it was brought under control leaving one firefighter in serious but stable condition.
Seven other firefighters and one civilian suffered non-life threatening injuries in the blaze that began at about 4 p.m. Thursday in the basement of a two-story home on Olmstead Avenue.
Officials did not say what caused the fire. It was brought under control over two hours later.
