PLACENTIA, Calif. (AP) - A 53-year-old California man has been sentenced to four years in prison after receiving his 10th drunken driving conviction in six years.
The Orange County Register reports (https://bit.ly/2sF2QP6 ) Derek Stacy Haskayne pleaded guilty on Tuesday to driving drunk. He also admitted to three misdemeanors for driving on a suspended license and without an ignition interlock device as required.
Haskayne was arrested in January after crashing his vehicle into a Southern California Edison electrical box.
The case was filed as a felony because of Haskayne’s high number of previous drunken driving convictions.
