WITTEN, S.D. (AP) - A Witten man has admitted stealing from the grain elevator where he worked.

The Daily Republic reports (https://bit.ly/2rK6GoJ ) that 54-year-old William Whitaker was accused of loading $9,000 worth of milo onto another person’s truck without his supervisor’s consent in February.

Whitaker pleaded guilty Thursday to grand theft by embezzlement. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine when he’s sentenced in August.



The truck operator is charged with grand theft by receiving stolen property and is scheduled to appear in court in July.
