ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Prosecutors told jurors they will see convincing evidence that a woman, her boyfriend and her two sons killed the woman’s estranged husband last summer.
Attorneys delivered opening statements Friday in the trial of Laura Rideout, Paul Tucci and Colin and Alexander Rideout. They’re being tried together in state Supreme Court in Rochester, where testimony will begin Monday.
They’re charged with killing Craig Rideout, of Penfield, and dumping his body in a wooded area in the Finger Lakes region. Authorities say Laura and Craig Rideout were getting divorced when Craig was slain inside his suburban Rochester home.
Police say his body was wrapped in a tarp and a corrosive liquid was poured on his face to make identifying him more difficult.
Defense lawyers told jurors to be critical of evidence submitted.
