BRENTWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have identified two men killed last week during a home invasion robbery In Northern California.

Brentwood police Lt. Walter O’Grodnick tells the East Bay Times (https://bayareane.ws/2tPrXP0 ) both 38-year-old Ellis Williams III and 32-year-old Joseph Brooks suffered at least one gunshot wound each.

Police say the men tried to enter a house on June 21 and one of the residents fatally shot them both.

O’Grodnick says at least one of them had a gun and presented a threat.

The homeowner was briefly detained but was not arrested and has not been charged.

Police say they are continuing to investigate.
