GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) - Police in Delaware say five people were hurt in a chain-reaction crash involving a prison van and two other vehicles.

State troopers say in a news release that the crash occurred Wednesday morning. Authorities say a prison van being driven by a correctional officer stopped for a flagger in a construction zone. A Chevrolet Impala stopped behind the prison van.

Investigators say an SUV driven by 72-year-old Wilahemina Dowdell of Seaford rear-ended the Impala, which was pushed forward into the prison van.

Troopers say the two correctional officers and one inmate who were on the bus, as well as the driver of the Impala and Dowdell were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police cited Dowdell for inattentive driving.
