WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Police and prosecutors in Delaware say a man has been indicted in the shooting of a 6-year-old boy in the state’s largest city.

The Wilmington News Journal , citing court records, says 32-year-old Michael Pritchett was indicted on June 12. Authorities say Pritchett was charged with attempted murder, assault and other offenses.

Police say Jashawn Banner was struck in the face by gunfire while sitting in a car with his mother. Banner was in critical condition in a hospital. Authorities believe the boy was caught in crossfire.

Another man was arrested on June 8 and charged in the shooting. Those charges were dropped and he was released.
