WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. (AP) - Five people have been rescued by the Coast Guard after their boat capsized off the coast of North Carolina.

The Coast Guard said in a news release that their command center in Wilmington received a call about 8 p.m. Wednesday that a boat had overturned with four adults and a 4-year-old child about 3 miles (5 kilometers) off Wrightsville Beach.

A boat from the Coast Guard station at Wrightsville Beach arrived about 10 minutes later and rescued the people, all of whom were wearing lifejackets.

They were taken to the Wrightsville Beach station before 9 p.m. No one was hurt. Their names have not been released.

A towboat went to the scene to salvage the overturned 22-foot (7-meter) boat.
