OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - This year’s Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association contest winners include WDEL-FM/AM in Wilmington, Delaware, and Voice of America-TV in Washington for best in show.

The awards were being presented Saturday at the association’s convention in Ocean City.

Twenty-five broadcast organizations, which included radio stations, television stations and colleges, submitted 227 entries for work in 2016. Categories included news, sports and weather reporting, as well as feature, documentary and public affairs coverage. Awards are also given for photography, video and best website.

The association also awarded a $3,000 scholarship to University of Maryland student Anna Muckerman. The rising senior from Abingdon is seeking a degree in broadcast journalism.

The Associated Press, a not-for-profit news cooperative, represents 1,400 newspapers and 5,000 broadcast stations in the United States.
