FORT DRUM, N.Y. (AP) - It’s going to get louder around Fort Drum over the next three weeks.

Officials at the U.S. Army base in northern New York say people living nearby should expect increased noise levels starting Saturday as training involving field artillery units begins.

Army officials say neighboring communities will hear noise from the gun ranges during the day, evening and overnight hours through June 23. They say the increased noise levels shouldn’t be a cause for alarm.

Fort Drum is the home to the 10th Mountain Division.
