EASTON, Pa. (AP) - Authorities allege that a driver involved in a crash that killed a woman in eastern Pennsylvania had fled the scene of an earlier crash about a mile away.

Police in Easton said a woman driving a sedan with a male passenger was involved in a minor crash just before 11:30 a.m. but sped off. Capt. David Beitler said the sedan later went out of control on a curve and hit two oncoming sport utility vehicles.

Officials said one SUV flipped on its side but the man and woman inside were unharmed, but the woman driving the second vehicle later died at Easton Hospital. Her name wasn’t immediately released.

Beitler said the man and woman in the car were hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening. No charges were immediately filed.
