LANCASTER, S.C. (AP) - A man has been arrested after two men died following a shooting at a South Carolina apartment complex.
Lancaster Police Chief Thomas Grant said in a news release that 36-year-old Courtney Javon McCain of Lancaster surrendered early Friday.
McCain has been charged with accessory after the fact of murder. He was awaiting a bond hearing and does not yet have an attorney.
Officers were called about 8:30 p.m. Thursday and found three people who had been shot.
The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office said 21-year-old Rakeem Patterson died at Springs Memorial Hospital. Twenty-two-year-old Markevis Foster was flown to a Charlotte, North Carolina, hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The third person suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. That person’s name has not been released.
Officers have not released a possible motive.
