ERIE, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a woman found assaulted with strangulation injuries in her northwestern Pennsylvania home last week has died.

Emergency responders in Erie County were called to the east Erie home shortly after 10 a.m. Friday after the woman was found by a relative. Investigators said they believe she was attacked in the home.

Coroner Lyell Cook said Sunday that the woman, identified as 26-year-old Anita Jones, died at Saint Vincent Health Center on Saturday morning. An autopsy is scheduled Monday afternoon to determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives haven’t announced any arrests but said they have spoken to neighbors and are checking the area for any surveillance video.
