HANNA, Okla. (AP) - A 27-year-old Maryland man has died in a single-vehicle collision in eastern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Mark Schwartz Jr. of Fulton, Maryland, was killed in Sunday’s collision on The Indian Nation’s Turnpike in McIntosh County.

Troopers say the collision occurred shortly after 2 p.m. northwest of Hanna. Schwartz was driving northbound when his vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a guard rail.

Troopers say Schwartz was ejected about 12 feet from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries. A 23-year-old passenger was transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Tulsa, where she is listed in stable condition.

Troopers say the cause of the crash is under investigation.
