FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man who was found dead in a smoke-filled apartment in northern Colorado.

The Larimer county coroner’s office identified the victim Monday as 66-year-old Ameer Beleal, of Fort Collins.

Madeline Noblett, a spokeswoman for the Fort Collins fire department, tells The Coloradoan that crews extinguished a fire on top of the stove in the home Saturday, and the man was dead when firefighters found him.

The coroner’s office did not release any more details about Beleal’s death.
