CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A second person has been shot to death in North Carolina’s largest city in less than 10 hours.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police spokeswoman Cindy Wallace says officers were called shortly before 1 a.m. Monday and found a man who had been shot. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was 24-year-old William Weddington.
Police said 63-year-old Maurice Grant talked with investigators and has been charged with murder. It was not known if Grant has an attorney yet.
Police had been called to another shooting shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said 34-year-old Lucas Lorenzo Baldwin died at the scene.
Police say it also appears Baldwin and his killer knew each other. No arrests have been made.
