MAMARONECK, N.Y. (AP) - New York State Police say a person is dead after getting hit by a passing truck while stopped on Interstate 95 in Westchester County.

The early Monday morning collision happened on the highway in Mamaroneck (muh-MAHR’-uh-nek). The Journal News reports (https://lohud.us/2s8OhFH ) the person had stopped to change a tire on their car when the person was hit and killed by a passing truck that kept going.

No other details about the victim are immediately available.

Troopers are searching for the truck and the driver, as the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
