SEATTLE (AP) - Seattle striker Will Bruin scored against his former team to lead the Sounders to a 1-0 win over the Houston Dynamo on Sunday.
Traded to the Sounders last December after scoring 50 times in six seasons with Houston, Bruin broke the deadlock in the 69th minute when he netted a diving header off Cristian Roldan’s cross.
The win lifted the defending MLS Cup Champions into sixth place in the Western Conference standings while Houston remained third.
ORLANDO CITY 0, FIRE 0
ORLANDO, Florida (AP) - Orlando City held Chicago Fire to a scoreless draw despite being reduced to nine men after Portuguese defender Rafael Ramos and Italian midfielder Antonio Nocerino were both sent off.
Ramos, making his first start of the season after battling hamstring troubles, was shown a straight red card in the 26th minute after colliding with Chicago’s Brandon Vincent.
Nocerino was ordered off for a high tackle on Matt Polster midway through the second half.
Chicago, currently second in the Eastern Conference standings, were unable to take advantage of the extra men as Orlando grabbed a point to move to third spot on the ladder.
