WILDWOOD, Fla. (AP) - An abandoned backpack led to the evacuation of a service plaza on Florida’s Turnpike.

Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Steve Gaskins said in an email that the suspicious bag was discovered at 2:20 a.m. Monday on a table inside the Okahumpka Service Plaza near Wildwood.

Troopers with assistance from the Wildwood Police Department evacuated the service plaza and its parking lot until 6 a.m.

Authorities secured the bag. Inside, they found toiletries, clothing and an Xbox controller. They turned the bag over to service plaza employees to be placed in the lost and found.

Wildwood is 52 miles (83.68 kilometers) northwest of Orlando.
