SUTTON, Mass. (AP) - Police say a driver fleeing an attempted traffic stop has died in a head-on crash.

Sutton police say an officer conducting traffic enforcement at about 7 a.m. Monday activated his emergency lights and attempted to pull over a pickup truck caught on radar going 50 mph in 30 mph zone.

Police say instead of pulling over, the pickup sped up even more and started passing other vehicles on the two-lane road.

After briefly losing sight of the truck, the officer rounded a sharp curve to find it had crashed head-in with two other vehicles.

The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released.

The other two drivers, a 16-year-old girl and a 55-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
