COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina middle school teacher has been arrested after child pornography was found on his work-issued computer.

Richland County sheriff’s deputies tell local media outlets 46-year-old Sean Maly was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree exploitation of a minor.

Deputies say Maly used his work laptop and email account to send a link containing child pornography to a co-worker. Authorities say Maly sent the link in error, but investigators ended up searching his computer, where they found pornographic images of children.

Online records show Maly was taken to jail but later released. A working phone number for him could not be found.

School district officials say Maly has been placed on leave from his job as a sixth-grade science teacher at Summit Parkway Middle School.
