SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - A Nevada man has been found not guilty of killing a woman in 2005.

KTVN-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2qYT0K1 ) 36-year-old Robert Ramirez was found not guilty this past week following a three-week trial.

Ramirez was arrested in June of 2015 for the killing of a 57-year-old woman.

Police say in October 2005, Ramirez killed Charlotte Szczepkowski, who was a friend of his, inside a Sparks house.

Authorities arrested Ramirez in 2005, but at the time, the Washoe County District Attorney felt there was not enough evidence for a trial, so Ramirez was released from custody. New evidence led to the re-arrest in 2015.
