HARRISON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a Harrison police officer opened fire after he was struck by a vehicle during a motor vehicle stop.

The incident took place early Tuesday in the area of Jersey and South 7th streets.

Authorities say as the officer engaged the driver, the motorist drove away. The injured officer opened fire and the suspect drove off.

The officer, whose name was not released, was treated for minor injuries.

No arrests have been made.
