HOPKINTON, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts woman has pleaded not guilty to being under the influence of drugs while driving on an interstate highway with her 5-year-old child in the car.

The MetroWest Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/2qXKM4M ) that Hopkinton police arrested 40-year-old Angela Boucher, of Franklin, on Saturday on I-495.

A witness told police that Boucher appeared to fall asleep behind the wheel, then woke up and kept driving. Officers described her as “very groggy” and determined she had taken some sort of depressant.

Boucher said she was on several medications, but denied taking any that day. Her lawyer said at her arraignment Monday that her client denies the charge.

A judge revoked bail in old cases Boucher faced, ordering her held for 90 days, and set bail at $500 in the new case.
