PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say two teenagers have been arrested in last week’s assault on a Philadelphia school principal hit in the face with a brick as he was trying to break up a fight between students.
Police said Wednesday that the two 15-year-olds were identified from video taken during the May 31 fight outside Fitler Academics Plus School.
Officials said the 39-year-old principal found out that students from Mastery Charter School were outside picking fights, so he tried to intervene and began to record video and was attacked. A principals’ union official told Philly.com that he was hit with a brick.
The teenagers are charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, simple assault and reckless endangering. Police say one is being questioned about sucker-punching an intellectually disabled man two days earlier.
