BASTROP, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police have arrested a Bastrop police captain on charges he illegally interfered in the handling of a warrant involving Alderman-elect Darry “DD” Green.

The Bastrop Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/2sUqFkR ) Gerald Boley was arrested Monday on charges of felony malfeasance in office and felony injuring public records. Bond was set at $3,000. It was unknown if he’s represented by an attorney.

Police Chief Allen Campbell says Boley has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending a resolution of the case.

Court documents show Campbell asked state police May 24 to open an investigation after Boley recalled a warrant issued for Green without authorization. Green was cited for allegedly allowing his business to operate as a “bottle club” without a license. A hearing in that case is set for June 13 in Bastrop City Court.
