PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Boston man has pleaded guilty to traveling to Rhode Island to entice a minor to engage in sexual conduct.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says 39-year-old Rafael Leal admitted Wednesday in a Providence federal court to traveling to Rhode Island to engage in sexual activity with the minor on at least four occasions last year.

Authorities say Leal admitted to communicating with the minor online and via text messages.

Leal pleaded guilty to using means of interstate commerce to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity, which carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years up to life. He also entered the plea to interstate travel to engage in sexual activity, and faces up to 30 years on that charge.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced in September.
