ERDA, Utah (AP) - A 41-year-old student pilot is recovering after crashing his plane while trying to land at an Erda airport.

Reports say the man was alone in the four-seater plane and did not suffer any serious injuries during the Tuesday incident. A Toole County Sheriff’s Office spokesman says the pilot was heading north on the runway when the airplane’s engine stalled and caused it to veer off the runway path to the west. According to the spokesman, the airplane’s nose crashed into the ground after the wing clipped the ground.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating to determine whether the crash was caused by pilot error or a mechanical issue.
