SUTTON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a 64-year-old fisherman missing since Monday on Sutton Lake.

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources says Joe D. McPherson of Sutton was reported missing by his wife about 6 p.m. Monday.

He went fishing at the lake about 10:30 a.m. Monday but didn’t return home. He boat was located Monday night along the shoreline.

Authorities say preliminary information indicates the boat may have hit a submerged object, ejecting him from the boat.

The 1,520-acre reservoir on the Elk River is about 70 miles east of Charleston.
