NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP) - Funeral services will be held for a New York couple who were killed in a two-car crash that police are blaming on an impaired driver.

Police in Clarkstown in Rockland County say 69-year-old Neil Block and his 68-year-old wife, Aline, were killed late Sunday afternoon when an unlicensed driver ran a red light in and slammed into the New City couple’s vehicle.

A funeral is being held Wednesday morning at Temple Beth Sholom in New City. Burial will be at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, New Jersey.

Relatives say the Blocks lived the American Dream by moving from the Bronx to New York City’s northern suburbs.

The charges against the 23-year-old Nanuet man accused of causing the crash include vehicular manslaughter and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.
