CHAPIN, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man has been charged with attempted murder after authorities say he tried to set three of his family members on fire.
Local news outlets report Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said in a statement that 47-year-old Mark Allen Bell was arrested on Tuesday. He’s accused of pouring gasoline on the floor of his Chapin home and throwing gas on family members while making threats.
Koon says Bell tried to set the gasoline on fire, but was thwarted by the three family members in his home.
Bell has been charged with three counts of attempted murder. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
