WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) - The West Point Band is celebrating 200 years of service to the Army with a livestream performance from the U.S. Military Academy’s Eisenhower Hall Theatre.

The bicentennial concert is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday. It will be streamed at www.westpointband.com .

The group is the Army’s oldest active duty band, founded at the U.S. Military Academy in 1817. It traces its lineage to fifers and drummers who were part of Continental Army units at West Point during the American Revolution.

It plays at more than 1,600 events annually, including military and patriotic ceremonies, parades, sporting events, public concerts and special events.
