LOS ANGELES (AP) - A 76-year-old man who was critically injured during a Los Angeles pit bull attack has died.
His family tells KCBS-TV (https://cbsloc.al/2mGizJZ) that Valentin Herrera died Monday.
Herrera suffered grave injuries and his Pomeranian, Dodger, was killed when two pit bulls attacked the dog a block from his Lincoln Heights home on Feb. 2.
Herrera was hurt as he tried to help his dog.
His son, Luis Herrera, says it appears Herrera was pulled to the ground and hit the back of his head. He suffered arm and brain injuries.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help raise money for his burial.
Authorities will decide whether the dogs are dangerous and should be put down.
