BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) - New Jersey police have arrested a 22-year-old man on charges that he sexually abused a 12-year-old Baker City boy online.

The Baker City Herald reports Wednesday (https://bit.ly/2lzMGlF) that Zachary Motta, of Woodbridge, New Jersey, was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of child pornography.

Woodbridge police say Motta worked as an emergency medical technician at a New Brunswick, New Jersey, hospital and was a volunteer with the Iselin Volunteer Fire Company.

Motta did not immediately return a call from the Associated Press seeking comment.

Baker City Police Chief Wyn Lohner says the boy’s mother reported the crimes to his school Feb. 14.

Authorities say Motta had sexually explicit conversations with the boy and traded explicit photos with him.
