MONTICELLO, N.Y. (AP) - A 24-year-old upstate New York man has been convicted of murder for the summer 2016 fatal shooting of his wife’s new boyfriend outside of her Hudson Valley home.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (https://bit.ly/2lrdX8N ) a Sullivan County jury on Tuesday found Carlos Serrano-Valentine guilty of intentionally killing 28-year-old Juan Medina on June 28, 2016 in Monticello.

Prosecutors say Serrano-Valentine walked up to Deanna Irizarry’s apartment house and shot the Brooklyn man three times as she watched from the kitchen window with her and Serrano-Valentine’s child.

County District Attorney Jim Farrell says Serrano-Valentine didn’t care who saw him do the crime or who he hurt.

Serrano-Valentine faces a minimum of 15 years to life in prison for the murder count. He was also convicted of two felony weapons charges.
