ARNOLD, Md. (AP) - An Anne Arundel police officer has been charged with assault and a sex offense for allegedly groping a female victim.

The police department received a complaint from a woman alleging misconduct on the part of an officer on January 30. Police say during the investigation they learned that 33-year-old Officer Bradly Tuthill first responded to the victim’s house for a wellbeing check, but then returned unnecessarily later that day. The victim says that during the second visit Tuthill groped her back and buttocks.

Tuthill also faces a malfeasance in office charge.

Tuthill, who has been on the force for three and a half year, has been assigned to administrative duties.
