BISHOPVILLE, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina law officers are investigating a murder after an anonymous letter providing GPS coordinates led detectives to the shallow grave of a man who disappeared in December.
WIS reports (https://bit.ly/2mPrlrR ) Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said the tip led to a wooded area in Bishopville and the remains of 35-year-old Adam Ray Davis. He was last seen Dec. 29 at a friend’s home in Bethune.
Matthews says an autopsy performed on Friday turned the case into a murder investigation. The sheriff says whoever buried his body knew the area in Lee County well.
Matthews says it’s not clear who tipped off authorities with the precise directions to the grave.
